What is the Baltimore County Chamber
of Commerce and what does it do?
The Baltimore County Chamber of Commerce is
the community's leading business advocate and champion for
business. Our primary objective is to create a climate of growth
and success in our community.
Is membership in the Baltimore County
Chamber a requirement for all businesses in Baltimore County?
Membership is voluntary in all chambers of
commerce, including ours. Many businesses join our organization
to benefit from the promotional, support and advocacy services
we provide to help connect them to customers and the issues that
matter in the Baltimore region.
What specific benefits do members of
the Baltimore County Chamber receive?
Our members receive a full range of services
including an aggressive public policy agenda, programs and
events, monthly networking events, marketing opportunities and
member services, such as referrals and meeting space.
How can an entrepreneur or a business
join the Baltimore County Chamber?
It's easy! You may either sign up online or
contact Director of Membership

at (410) 825-0036. Our fees are annual and are based on the size
of your business.
What types of businesses join the
Baltimore County Chamber?
Our 750 members are mostly small business
owners and entrepreneurs located in neighborhoods all across
Baltimore County and the greater Baltimore region. Our members
represent all types of businesses, large, medium and small, across
all industry sectors, including financial services, energy,
insurance, manufacturing, wholesale and retail trade, health
care, real estate and communications.
Why would businesses outside of
Baltimore County join the Baltimore County Chamber of Commerce?
Whether your business is based in Baltimore
County or outside of it, if you currently conduct a significant
portion of your business in here or are looking to grow your
business within the county, then you should be a member of the
Baltimore County Chamber of Commerce. Our networking events,
programs and services can assist you in increasing your customer
base while our communications will keep you abreast of
developments in the region that may affect your business.
Does the Baltimore County Chamber
provide special membership rates for nonprofits?
The Chamber offers membership based on the
size of your business. A number of nonprofit organizations, both
large and small, are members.
I'm looking to start my own company.
Should I join the Baltimore County Chamber before I actually
establish my business?
We love your enthusiasm! However, because the
Chamber is a member business association, we recommend that you
join us after your business is established. In the meantime, we
encourage you to visit the Small Business Resource Center for
business services aimed at start-ups and entrepreneurs. You can
contact their counselors by calling (410) 825-6200.
I would like to purchase the Baltimore
County Chamber's membership list. How would I go about doing
that?
The Chamber’s membership list is only
available to Chamber members.
I would like to place advertising in
the Baltimore County Chamber’s print directory. How can I find
out about ad sizes, pricing, etc.?
Advertising orders for next year's 2008-2009
edition will begin next spring, with the directory distributed

I'd like to submit an article to Sound
Business and/or place an ad. Who should I contact?

Chamber's quarterly newsletter that is mailed to 1,700 members,

meeting?
Only Chamber members may participate on

I find out more?

currently a Baltimore County Chamber member, you will be asked
to become one before hosting or sponsoring a Chamber event.
How can I get my upcoming event posted
on the Chamber's community calendar?
Simply visit the Membership Message Board's
Community Events section to submit your event. Note that the
Chamber reserves the right to edit or reject submissions.
Can the Baltimore County Chamber refer
me to services I need like hotels, printers, lawyers or Web
designers?
We have more than 750 member businesses
providing all types of services and products. We encourage you
to search our online member directory.

find this information?
