Legislative Affairs Committee

The Baltimore County Chamber of Commerce Legislative Affairs Committee is instrumental in the development and implementation of the Chamber's legislative agenda. The committee meets monthly to formulate the Chamber's annual policy agenda, and weekly during the 90-day Maryland General Assembly session.

In addition, a wide variety of experts on topics of importance to the business community visit the committee.

The committee is chaired by Cliff Ishmael of Strategic H.R.

    Leads the discussion on the impact of education on the business climate in Baltimore County

    Educates the committee on the current energy environment and issues, and steers the discussion of energy policy that affects the business climate in the County and the region

    Manages the Chamber's role in promoting fiscal responsibility for Baltimore County and the state of Maryland.

  • Health Care

    Develops the framework and content of the Chamber's policy on health care from the standpoint of business.

    Develops the framework and content of the Chamber's policy on health insurance issues from the standpoint of business.

    Manages the Chamber's role in promoting economic revitalization programs and initiatives for Baltimore County

    Advises the committee on all aspects of state and local tax laws and policies, as well as monitoring legislation affecting the fiscal health of Baltimore County and the region
